Old and New Cemetery

In this town we have "Old" and "New"
Explain to us why we have two
A third was built in 1865
You could not get out of these alive.

As the last and final place I am going to go to the Old and New cemeteries. I hope this one will be the best. I typed the date 1838 into my time machine. That was when the "Old" Cemetery was created. My time machine went faster and faster and just like that I was standing in front of the old Cemetery.

The "Old" cemetery was created in 1838. It lies behind the old Methodist Church. The cemetery has about 100 graves. It is surrounded by a chain link fence. Once the cemetery got filled up Montgomery created the "New" Cemetery.

The "New" Cemetery was created to relieve the Old Cemetery after it got full. It was founded in 1868. Many honored Texans were buried there. One person was Charles B. Stewart. Also, the wife of General Memucan and many other veterans of the previous wars. The first people buried were donated by, P.J. and R.S. Willis.
